Its strongest point is that it doesn't require special tools, doesn't introduce proprietary formats, and is easy to verify with a test restore.
The weakness is survivability: paper is fragile against water, humidity, ink fading, and fire. Theft risk is also binary: anyone who reads it can usually restore the wallet. If you rely on paper, the only defensible approach is careful execution: legible block letters, double-check spelling, and physical protection.
